On August 27–28, 2025, a delegation led by Wei Yi-Ming, Director of the Beijing Laboratory for Systems Engineering  of Carbon Neutrality at Beijing Institute of Technology, visited Baogang Group to conduct a research study, focusing on pathways for green and low-carbon development in the steel industry. The delegation was accompanied by Yin Peng, Deputy General Manager of Shandong Guoshun Construction Group, Jun Pujia, Director of the General Office, as well as relevant department heads from Baogang Group.

During the visit, the research team conducted on-site inspections of the rare earth steel smelting plant and pellet production processes, gaining a detailed understanding of the implementation of Baogang Group’s 5-million-ton pellet flue gas desulfurization and denitrification upgrading project. In-depth exchanges were held among Beijing Laboratory for Systems Engineering  of Carbon Neutrality, Shandong Guoshun Group, and Baogang Group on topics including low-carbon smelting technologies in the steel sector, optimization of desulfurization and denitrification processes, and best practices in energy-saving and emission-reduction retrofitting.
